Raytheon MRPII

Opportunity
Raytheon C3i in Largo, Florida desired to strengthen the internal development of their employees on the front line bench. Through the creation of a Manufacturing Engineering Training curriculum, employees from bench technicians to design engineers would be able to access training and development online in a self-paced study environment.

One of these elements of ME Training was a solution to replace the training and continuing education curriculum for manufacturing design engineers. The current use of 190 transparency slides on an overhead projector was lengthy, highly inefficient and ineffective as a training program.

Solution
It was determined that the entire curriculum could be redesigned as a self study program delivered online through a secure internal network. Testing would occur at the conclusion of the course and results would be forwarded to training supervisors.

Because of the self-paced methodology of the curriculum, the training could occur at the employee’s desk in the timeframe agreed upon by the supervisor. In addition, the curriculum would be used as continuing education and initial training for new hires.
